Dr. Emily McComas was born in southern California where she had a passion for animals from early on.
Her dad designed her first veterinary business card at age 6 that announced, "specializing in cats, dogs, hissing cockroaches, and pangolins" to reflect her love of every animal. Later moving to Fayetteville, Arkansas, Dr. McComas graduated from the University of Arkansas with degrees in Biology and Animal Science, and studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland, and Melbourne, Australia. Dr. McComas graduated with honors from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021.
Her love for animals has never let up, even though her interests have moved beyond hissing cockroaches! She loves feline medicine and surgery, oncology, dermatology, and preventative medicine. More than anything, she loves talking to people about their pets and working together with owners to ensure the health and happiness of these important members of their families.
In her free time, Dr. McComas loves traveling, gardening, cooking, reading, and spending time with her 3 rescue cats, Lizzie, Bennet, and Fitz. Throughout vet school, Dr. McComas has enjoyed multiple externships at Denton Veterinary Center and feels so lucky to now call this home.
