Cats are not small dogs, and at Denton Veterinary Center we understand that! Many cat owners only bring their cats in to see a veterinarian when something is wrong, usually because the visit is a stressful event for everyone involved. Cats have their own unique medical needs, and at Denton Veterinary Center, we strive to make our clinic as comfortable for cats as possible. Our waiting room is divided into separate cat and dog areas, and we make sure that you and your cat are taken to an examination room as quickly as possible to minimize stress. We also have separate boarding facilities for cats, and make every effort to make our clinic as cat-friendly as possible.
Just like for dogs, regular visits to the veterinarian are crucial for our cat patients. Regular visits for cats allow veterinarians to detect disease processes like diabetes, hyperthyroidism, and chronic kidney disease earlier in the process, hopefully before your cat gets sick. Additionally, starting to bring your cat to the veterinarian as a kitten can help minimize the stress of a veterinary visit and build a foundation for many successful veterinary visits to come!
At Denton Veterinary Center we strive to stay up-to-date with the latest in cat medicine and surgery. Dr. Katrina Lindsay is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and has a special interest in cat medicine.
